A burst pipe can flood a room in minutes, and most of the damage comes from the water that keeps running until someone turns it off. We answer emergency call-outs 24/7 across East London. Call us and we will talk you through isolating the supply, then come out, repair the pipe and check the rest of the system is sound.

The first five minutes
Turn the water off at the stopcock, which is usually under the kitchen sink or in the hallway. Open the cold taps to drain what is left in the pipes, and if water is dripping through a light fitting or socket, keep clear and switch the power off at the consumer unit. Once the flow has stopped, call us on 07950 619 002.
How we repair the burst
Bursts usually happen at a joint, in a section that has frozen, or where pipework has been knocked or corroded. We find the damaged length, cut it out and replace it in copper or plastic, then turn the water back on and check every joint we have touched. We sheet the area before starting and dry what can be saved, because the repair should not add to the mess. On a sealed system we repressurise the boiler afterwards and run the heating to confirm water circulates properly.
Stopping it happening again
When a pipe froze before it burst, the real fix is insulation and heat, not just the repair. We lag exposed pipework in the loft, point out draughts where cold air reaches the pipes, and can insulate around the stopcock and any runs on outside walls. If you go away in cold weather, leaving the heating on a low setting protects the whole system.
